Koenig Humbert in Erlangen

I was in Erlangen because of the medical foundation, that's why I chose Hotel Garni König Humbert. Is very close to the University Hospital, very pleasant and the service (now with Corona Lockdown and measures) was very good

Completely different room as booked, not comparable.

Very bad for older people on the third floor. A kettle in the room would be very good otherwise it works. A smoker would also be good

In July 2019 booked a 2-night stay in Erlangen for June 2020. Due to COVID-19 situation everything is disrupted, but moreover is that German Federation of Health Ministry does not allow Bavarian hotels to accept any tourists for overnight, thus the service booked cannot be provided by the hotel. The hotel refused to cancel the booking and is still planning to charge for the service they can't provide. This is a very sad behaviour in very sad times... if this hotel charges us we will be forced to contact our Credit Card provider as actions by the hotel are pure fraud.

Decent hotel .., good value, good location

Terribly grubby. With the carpet on the stairs you can populate Mars with life within 6 months.

What can you say about a hotel that is always so well attended due to the lack of competition. It starts with the fact that there are zero parking spaces nearby. If then the maximum parking time is 3 hours or two parking garages. Then zero handicapped accessible! Although I only have a moderate disability, it was difficult for me to get to the upper floor. Even the stairs are not normal and much too high. Sometimes the handrail cannot be used at all as there is a high risk of injury! Strongly in need of renovation, as everything is getting old and with this furniture resembles the charm of a youth hostel or it has simply been neglected to put money into it instead of just cashing in for the last 30 years. The doors are made of cardboard and every room you pass has zero privacy. The bathrooms from the 80s and sometimes so narrow that it is impossible for fat people to look after themselves there. Since Erlangen hardly has any reasonable hotels, this hotel is 100% run just like that. Why not, if the demand for scarce rooms allows it. The boss of this house should just spend a few days there himself, only then does something happen. Because you can make something out of it, you just have to take money into your hand.

Clean, adequate breakfast, unfortunately no elevator, small rooms, well located, well-kept, moderate prices .. 🐢

Small and practical hotel near the city of Erlangen. Slightly angled, but that's not a disadvantage, since it's not a new building. Clean rooms with flat screen TVs. Rich, very delicious breakfast! Staff helpful and flexible on arrival times.

No reception whatsoever in the evening or in the morning we saw people. No time for breakfast And the beds too small and the mattresses very tired. Hotel to avoid.

In principle, a good hotel for the money. Of the minuses - there is no kettle in the room and every day the same breakfast with a very small selection (eggs, sandwiches and drinks). The rest is clean and nice.

Room very noisy, does not work

Simple rooms. Room rates OK. Breakfast rich. Location very good.

Inter royalty to write about this hotel despite the king's reference in the name. Extremely noisy outside in central intersection in town. There had been smoked intense in one of the rooms (very strong tobacco, and perhaps to suppress the sweetening smell of marijuana). No lampshades over the bulbs. The other was out to a backyard also with alarms much of the night, and with the shutters down to sleep it became unbearably hot. We left before breakfast due to the poor standard of the hotel. The only positive thing to say is that it was clean, inexpensive and friendly at night. Here, however, we never come again, and together with our dining experiences in the city, "Erlangen bei Nürnberg" is not recommended for travelers.

Small, cosy, and clean

Great room for the price !!! I have been here before and am thrilled. Mainly, of course, because of simplicity in handling, room quality and price / performance ratio. Nice central. Everything (important) within walking distance. Chekka. ;-)

A bit expensive hor the price quality. Room was not that clean and I would not touch too much the things inside. I was happy to leave early...

Right on a busy street (5 mtr. From the edge of the street) no parking at the hotel. No elevator, old building from the 60s. Carpet in the hall / frayed stairs. Room old-fashioned and very simple. Breakfast mager.

Price performance is ok, super clean and the hotel definitely only promises what it does! Breakfast is totally fine !! Overall, because of the location 4 stars justified;)

Great hotel

No Receptionist all day, only during the day time, and the Rooms are not quite big as a hotel should be. Otherwise the location is great.

Alexandra runs a great place. It is very clean and comfortable and reasonably priced! I highly recommend it. It is located in a great area of Erlangen as well.

Nice little B&B, fairly basic but close to town

Good overnight stay and friendly staff

Breakfast was great, the staff is wonderful and very kind. Personally I never experienced such kind staff before in a hotel. Had to book a few extra days and was possible without any hassle and all my questions were answered. The room I was in was quite comfortable and the shower is even better than at my own place. The bathroom also has a towel-warmer. Room also has a couch, TV, a phone and an alarm clock. The WiFi is free which is great, but you'll have to sign in every hour by agreeing to their terms (Airfy Internet). The WiFi speeds depends on the time of the day where other people are making use of it as well. While the WiFi speed mostly wasn't great (from 100KB/200KB to (rare) 2MB) I was very glad the WiFi is free and able to use messaging apps on your phone. And for the doubters, browsing/YouTube went just fine! The WiFi routers on each floor are only located on 1 side of the building. If your room is on the other side, you may experience WiFi connection issues. Would have been nice if only hotel quests were able to use the internet. As it is now, anyone (even outsiders) can use the hotel's WiFi internet as long they are near the hotel which may break down the overal speed. Overall, I would highly recommend this Hotel.
